It's not an easy task to review Bala's Naan Kadavul. Being one of the best directors in Tamil Film Industry, Bala had earlier proved his stunning works in Sethu, Nandha and Pithamaghan. And now he reaches the greatest heights with his 'Naan Kadavul'. So, are you guessing what's so special with this Naan Kadavul?
Yeah! In this movie he has depicted the lives of Aghory Saadhus and physically challenged people. Of course, it's not an easy one to make a film on real life of Saadhus in Kasi.
The film opens at the backdrops of Kasi where we see an idiotic father who left his son in Kasi few years before heeding to some astrologists' foretelling abandons his son. On realizing his mistake after 15 years, he returns to Kasi to get back his son named Rudhra (Arya) who grows up in the midst of Saadhus as a rough and tough man, who life is unique and different from others. After his father's persuasion, he comes back to his native place Malaikottai. But doesn't get involved in the family and continues his Saadhu life with a strong statement of 'Aham Brahmaasmi'. (Naan Kadavul)…
In this town, he comes across a gang torturing physically challenged people to beg and one amongst those pitiable men and women is Hamsavalli (Pooja) who is forced to beg, a blind girl indeed. After some extent, Rudhra moves his action against that gang as a Savior. Well, as everyone knows about the climax of Bala, it's something about to get shocked with a strong touch.
Director Bala makes everyone to shine in front of camera. Physically challenged peoples showed their performance naturally to the screen. He brings out the real feeling of those peoples a whole lot of cast including Saadhus and beggars fit their roles well. Be it Aarya or Pooja, everyone have stunningly acted.
No words to say about music as musical maestro Ilayaraja showed his splendiferous best again. Not only in the songs, had he also showed his stupendous performance in re-recording also. Every one surprised to see the performance of Arya because he's a soft handed person and guessing how he played the role of Aghory? Yeah Bala made him to act. Pooja as a blind girl moves your hearts to the great extreme. Cinematography: Aruthur Wilson showed his techniques by capturing the real happenings in Kasi… Writer Jay Mohan also scored well for this movie through his dialogues. Hope this movie is sure to fetch more Awards. Everyone in the crew have spelled their most fantabulous performance.
On the whole, 'Naan Kadavul' is a film that shouldn't be missed at any cost… But weak-hearted ones, Pregnant Ladies must get themselves strong-willed to accept the violent factors on the screen…
